A Full-Suite of Services and Capabilities

Our world-class braiding and over-braiding technology is only part of the unique value enjoyed by our customers. Our broad spectrum of capabilities, equipment, and expertise provides many opportunities for greater efficiency or performance improvements to better satisfy customer needs and desires.

From design and engineering on the front end through finishing and assembly on the back, Highland Composites has the equipment and the know-how to help our customers seek every potential advantage — and create new options, too.

CAD, Preforms, Molds, and Prototypes

Our computer-aided design (CAD) program capabilities include CATIA V5 with Solidworks Premium. Together with our CNC five-axis machining booth, we can design and manufacture tools and die for preforming as well as inexpensive molds from acrylics that allow prototyping on a very cost-efficient, iterative basis as compared to conventional molds.

Lamination and Filament Winding

We seek always to bring our customers the greatest possible added value; at times, our expertise and capital investments in more traditional technologies for composites manufacturing play an important role.

We offer full manufacturing capabilities utilizing uni-directional fabrics, noncrimp braids, and dry or pre-preg
0/90 flat fabrics. Our capabilities include automated ply cutting and kitting and hand lay-up lamination.

We offer filament winding capable of 30-inch diameter x 24-foot length. One of our existing products based on filament winding technology is an outstanding example of the power of ingenuity, design excellence, and the potential for composites to be used in truly innovative products that are game-changers for their industry.
